Mentoring roles through the network are paid engagements. Session frequency is agreed directly between you and the client at the start of the engagement, based on what their situation calls for. Typically that's once a week or once a month, though the arrangement is yours and the client's to set. Your session fee is yours to determine. John can provide guidance on current market rates if that's useful, but the rate is your decision.
You're under no obligation to accept any brief. When a brief comes in that matches your background, John approaches you with the headline shape of the search before sharing any client detail. You review it and decide whether it's the right engagement for you at the time. Saying no to a brief that doesn't suit you is entirely expected. The network works because mentors have genuine discretion over what they take on.
